The significance of this collection marks Section 35's 5 year anniversary. Niyanan means "5" in Cree, which is what the syllabics read. The lady in the graphic is one of the owners' (Justin) ancestors and without our ancestors, we wouldn't be here. The 4 symbols represent medicine wheels which represent balance, the 4 directions, the 4 seasons, and the 4 colours.
The heavyweight Niyanan Hoody from Section 35, features stitched felt syllabics on the front, single stitch contours around the felt syllabics and has a 3 colour Silkscreen print on the back. As always, made on Turtle Island.
